Professional dog training in Northern Kentucky. Part of a national franchise network, locally led by Sam and JP. Currently serving Northern Kentucky in-home and mobile while a new training facility comes online.

The Location

MLK9 Kentucky.
Serving All of Northern KY.

MLK9 Kentucky is Northern Kentucky's authorized MLK9 franchise. We serve all of Northern Kentucky, training at your home or a neutral location across Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties.

We train at your home or a neutral location -- which is how most clients prefer it anyway, because real behavior change happens where your dog actually lives. A dedicated training facility is in progress.

The Team

Sam + JP.

Working-dog handlers first, family-dog trainers second. Same standards, both sides of the leash.

S
Police K9 Handler
Sam

Eight years as a police officer in Northern Kentucky, working directly with K9s. Handled a black Labrador and currently a German Shepherd, both dual-purpose dogs deployed in real-world situations. Sam trained pet dogs at Ridgeside K9 before launching MLK9 Kentucky, bringing that hands-on family-dog foundation into every program.

J
Firefighter / SWAT Medic
JP

Twenty-two years as a firefighter paramedic, including time as a SWAT team medic. Trained Calvin, a black Lab, for human remains detection and search-and-rescue tracking. JP also trained pet dogs at Ridgeside K9 before launching MLK9 Kentucky alongside Sam, and saw firsthand how elite working-dog principles apply powerfully to family companions.

The Network

Part of the MLK9
National Network.

MLK9 is a national dog training franchise with locations across the United States. Each location is independently owned and operated by professional trainers who are trained in and operate under the MLK9 system.

The Northern Kentucky location brings that same level of training and standards to your community. You get the weight of a national network with trainers who are local to the area.

Our Facility

New Training Facility
Coming Soon.

Our dedicated training facility in Northern Kentucky is nearly complete. Until it opens, training happens at your home or a neutral location.

Board and Train dogs split time between the facility and the trainer's home. Most clients prefer the in-home approach anyway because real behavior change happens where your dog lives.
